Sorority Life: Coming Out of Demonic Deception
During the final ceremony, a few weeks later, known as "crossing the burning sands" or crossing over, was the moment I realized I had made a huge mistake. By this time, I was exhausted from all of the mental hazing, which included a lack of sleep, little to no eating, physical fatigue, and stress, to name a few. I had no idea what to expect, but the Big Sisters (those pledging the recruits) had hyped it up so much that I had considerable expectations, but mostly curiosity about how the conclusion of pledging would be. Our pledge line was told that the cross-over ceremony was a true spiritual experience. In my innocence and ignorance, I did not know the depth of that statement. By the close of the ceremony, after completing all the covenants and pronouncements, I submitted myself blindly and completely under the demonic control of Greek and Egyptian gods, goddesses, and witchcraft by signing my name in the sorority covenant book. I saw a Soror who crossed over, and one of the older Sorors said, "Close your eyes as we wait to be visited by the sorority founders". She said their presence would come into the room with us and instill the sorority's principles into us. She instructed us to invite the dead founders to the ceremony. These founders had been dead for decades, so these were ancient spirits coming to visit us. I became extremely uncomfortable. As a child, I had visited Pentecostal and Baptist churches with my grandmother a few times, and I had heard of catching the Holy Ghost. However, this was different, and something told me that this was extremely wrong. The other girls pledging with me, including the Big Sisters, all started praying and crying, asking the sorority founders to visit us now and fill us with the sorority's spirit. I kept thinking this was not what I had signed up for. I knew I had been tricked at that very moment. Everyone in the room was on the floor on their hands and knees, crying and praying for demonic visitation. In the Bible book of Galatians, the question was asked of people making foolish decisions, " Who has bewitched you"? This question can be applied today when it comes to joining a Greek Letter Sorority or Fraternity.
